Rapparee Guide to Rocklands (Maidens Tower.
The outcrop is situated along the T8 Wexford-Killinick (Rosslare road.From Wexford go along the T8 to a grotto on the R about one mile outside Wexford town. The outcrop is easily recognisable from the main road. Grid Ref T 050 200 (v. approx)
Access. Fro the grotto move around on the R going through a ditch until the Maiden's Tower is spotted, then head straight for it, crossing two walls carefully.
It is not advisable to approach the outcrop from the L of the B7B house, as it is private property and strictly forbidden.
Note: The outcrop lies on private land, and while the owners have not objected to climbers, they should be as unobtrusive as possible.
The rock is impure quartzite, many of the routes tackle bulges or overhangs, and friends are useful for protection.
The climbs are described from L to R when facing the rock.
