The east side of a dry valley midway between Crag With A View and Hanging Rock. (Grid Ref. H113359, Sheet 26, Lough Allen) The crag is shrouded in trees some 700m from the Blacklion to Florencecourt road. There are some seasonal restrictions. Climbers would be wise to contact Gortatole OEC (0365 348888) prior to arrival.

YOUTHFUL OUTING S 4a P.Nolan 3rd July 1983 This climb follows a small corner to the left of Tisakracker on a series of small holds onto large dirty ledges left of small tree. Climb directly to top through trees.


TISAKRACKER 25m VS 4b R.Finlay, K.Quinn 1980 On the left of valley near a steep broken gully. Climb the clean jamming crack in corner left of gully.


ROOTS 20m D R.Finlay September 1979 Climbs the tree filled gully on the right of the Aiguille.


BRUTE FORCE 20m VS 4b J.Rotherham, B.McDermot June 1980 Start between Tisakracker and Third Force. Climb the obvious steep crack at flake edge. Ending in jungle.


THIRD FORCE 25m HVS 5a M.Smith, R.Finlay 25th November 1981 Start - left-slanting corner right of Tisakraker. Climb corner and hand jam overhang to a small tree and ledge. Fight wall and bushes to top.


POINTLESS ALTERNATIVE 25m VS 4c T.Fogg, P.Nolan 26th May 1983 Climb Auntyclimbx as far as the large tree. Traverse onto tree then traverse left again on small exposed holds and go for the small branch sticking out of large crack at the top of Third Force, continue through trees to top.


AUNTYCLIMBX 25m VS 4c M.Smith, R.Finlay 25th November 1981 Start - a faint corner below large tree at half height right of Third Force. Chimney up corner and step left to climb crack and hug big tree. Up chimney to top.


MARK'S ROUTE 22m VS 4c M.Smith, A.Devlin, M.Manson 17th July 1982 This route is on the undercut buttress with groove from half height. Start in next corner right of Auntyclimbx. Climb corner until it is possible to traverse right into groove which is climbed to the top.


TASK FORCE 25m VS 4c T.Fogg, P.Holmes 26th April 1982 The corner 5m right of Third Force. Climb the loosish left-hand corner to a large ledge. Continue up the wide right-hand crack. The crux is at a chockstone. Delicate bridging above.


GUNGE 20m VD R.Finlay, P.Nolan 5th May 1983 30 m right of Task Force, at an obvious stepped diagonal line leading rightwards. Start about 2m right of 'Arête' in a little corner. Move up and rightwards to a steep section below a block. Pull up and continue up the little rock steps. Move left and up past tree at the top. Good climbing.
